360 Fixed!
So over Christmas break I was at my cousin's house, and I noticed that he had an Xbox in pieces all over, I was like "what the"? He said that he got a new one, when his old one broke, and he tried, but he could not fix the old one. He being very kind, and generous (hope he reads this) offered me his old one at NO COST TO ME! Woo Hoo, can't do better then free, even if it is broken. Well anyhoo, I watched like twenty different youtube video's, to educate myself on how one goes about fixing an Xbox, and then I went to work. I headed over to Home Depot (on the list of top ten favorite stores) and started looking for some bolt's and rubber washers to remount the heat sinks. A couple very un-helpful people tried to assist me, and, a little frustrated, my little sister and I headed out. (It was Friday and she had school off, why not?) Then we headed over to Lowe's, a little less organized, but a little more selection, it took a bit to locate, but soon we had all the parts we needed, and an couple that we really didn't need. So when I got home, scrubbed off the old thermal paste from the heat sinks, and put some new stuff on, and then bolted them down. There was actually a ton more that went into it, and I really could add it, but it may become boring... Well anyway, the important part, I unhooked the fans and ran it until it over-heated and restarted it's self. Then plugged the fan's back in, and walah, fixed Xbox. Took some pictures so you could see the insides of it, and my fan that I stuck on top of it.The fan was actually like one of the hardest parts, I traced it out on some graph paper, and then busted out my Dremel. The problem is, it is kind of hard to cut a round hole with flat blade, but I figured it out, and made it all smooth and pretty. Well end of the story, it turns out that the new fan was mad loud, and it didn’t really need it anyways being remounted and all, so I just put it all back together without it.
